After a recent podcast aired about the negative effects of high current stim during Iontophoresis, we were challenged to try it ourselves. So…….we did. Attached are pictures comparing a Hybresis electrode after the 3 minute skin enhancement mode vs an Iontopatch after a 14 hour delivery. Clearly, in just 3 minutes, the skin is red on the Hybresis side.
The creators of Iontopatch point to this as an indicator that something is happening that is not conducive to delivering as much drug to a site as is possible. They believe that vasodilation is the worst enemy of drug delivery, causing the medication to wash away systemically. Let us know what you think?
